Patrol Rifle Course
The patrol rifle is quickly becoming a law enforcement staple. This class is designed to take the new shooter and teach him/her rifle marksmanship and fighting skills. The class is orientated towards the AR15 platform, however any rifle approved for LE use is welcome in the class. The class will cover trajectory, zero, accessories such as slings, lights, and optics, reloads, transitions, weapons retentions, handcuffing, and team skills.
Student Requirements:
Eye and ear protection, proper clothing for the weather, duty belt, pistol with at least one spare magazine, rifle with at least two spare magazines (if running a bolt rifle some way to carry spare rounds), ball cap or other hat, and body armor. Knee and elbow protection is nice to have but not necessary. Students are also encouraged to bring any support gear such as load bearing vests, go bags, etc. Students are encouraged to run the majority of the class in full gear.
Estimated round counts are 100 rounds of pistol and 400 to 600 rounds of rifle ammunition.
Host Agency Requirements:
A Classroom large enough to accommodate up to 30 students. The classroom does not need to be at the range, but within 15 minutes of travel time would be nice. Each day will start at the classroom and end on the range.
A range a minimum of 50 yards long and 20 yards wide, 100 yards or longer is preferred.

This is a POST approved course and the following hours will be awarded from each of the core curricula areas:
Technical Studies -15 Hours
Skill Development -9 Hours
